Las Vegas: Getting Around

Taxis are readily available from MGM Grand, and private sedans and shuttles are always an option with some advance notice. But, if you're in the mood to just get out and explore, the Las Vegas Monorail is a great, inexpensive option for you.

The Las Vegas Monorail runs from the east side of MGM Grand Hotel to Sahara Ave. The Las Vegas Monorail operates 7 days a week from 7:00am to 2:00am Monday - Thursday and until 3:00am Friday - Sunday. Rates start at as little as $5.00 per person, and children under 5 ride for free. Click Here for additional rates and more information.

Walking Safety: The best way to experience it all is on foot, but please remember the length of the Strip can be deceptive... it takes more time than you would think to walk from one end to the other. Make sure you realize that there are a lot of cars traveling on the Strip at any given time and most of these people are looking at everything around them. In Las Vegas people expect you to wait for the cross walk so they ignore you until then, so keep your eyes open when crossing the busy Las Vegas streets, and don't forget to keep an eye on your belongings in the many crowded areas.
